The Legislation:

The Healthy Families Act requires employers with 15 or more employees to provide seven days a year of paid sick leave to employees, which could also be used to care for a sick relative. The bill supports the middle class by ensuring that Americans can take care of themselves when they’re ill and address the health needs of their families. There is also a Senate version of this legislation: S. 910 sponsored by Senator Edward Kennedy.
